    Can't change themes or wallpapers!

So I bought an Acer One D255 Netbook and upgraded it to Win 7 Pro. Now It won't let me change anything in Personalize when I right click on the desktop. Any help would be appreciated greatly. Thank you.

There may be a problem with your context menu.

Have you tried going through Control Panel?

Go to the start orb, and Copy and paste this Personalize into the search box.

If you get results, click on personalize my computer.

This may be a problem with your user account.

Use this tutorial to create a new account https://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials...-accounts.html Then see if you can get into Personalization.

If this works then go back and delete the old account.

If it still happens after creating another user account, log in to an admin account and make sure the group policy settings to prevent theme change isn't enabled. Windows 7 Theme Group Policy | Windows 7 Themes
Based on our test, it seems the Registry key [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop\WallPaper] is missing and caused this problem. To work around this issue, please create a String Value [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop\WallPaper] on client and try changing the wallpaper

I found this explanation of your problem:
Personalization option in control panel will not open. Windows 7 Home Premiuim 64 Bit

You can try running the sfc /scannow to make sure your files are okay.

I'm going to ask on another thread here if anyone has run into this before.

Thanks Ezio, I was going to suggest The group policy, until I saw the link I provided.

With my version of 7 (Home Premium) I don't have a lot of experience with group policy.
