    Custom Themes in Win7 x64/x86 SP1

Hello everybody, installed a couple of days ago SP1 on both my Win 7 machines, notebook x86 , desktop x64. SP1 looks like it overwrites uxtheme.dll or something with new versions. Does anybody know if there already is a patcher to be able to use custom themes on 7 SP1 ? Thanks.

When you install SP! it re-writes your system files. Just use whatever you used in the first place to re-patch them.

    Yes I do....!

Download and execute this file... "UniversalThemePatcher_20090409". Pick 32-bit or 64-bit, according to what your Windows-7 is. It has three patch buttons that have to be presed. Then it will ask you to re-boot.

After that, install whatever theme you like.

This is the theme I'm runing right now... "Nightfall_for_Windows_7_by_oliver182", it is really cool !!!

Just for your info... the Nightfall folder, and Nightfall.theme... (or, any theme you install) have to be copied to C:\Windows\Resources\Themes folder.

Then right-click on your desktop, go to Personalize, then scroll down to Nightfall, and click on it.

You can further tweak the theme while in Windows Color>Advanced appearance settings. There are settings as to font colors, sizes, and more...

sam2fish please post the link for "UniversalThemePatcher_20090409"?, it´s not clickeable. tw33k: nope core uxtheme patcher from july 13 that runs as service recognizes the files it intends to patch as different and aborts. I am nearly sure we need a patcher that works on SP1 versions, will try (previous backup) sam2fish suggestion (If I find the link) and Ill be back

on x64, you HAVE to run the x86 patch too.
