Windows 7: need advice on my mistake when trying 2 install custom theme

Hi all,
sorry 4 for posting 2 similar posts.
I tried to follow a tutorial on enabling custom themes without changing system files.

i did this without a problem. so i downloaded a theme called cyborgs by razorsedge from Virtual Customs • Home • Customize Your Virtual World!

in the description/instructions it said "Cyborgs is a full self install theme. Everything is located inside the theme folder and can be applied within seconds if you have theme resource changer installed.
This does not patch your theme files just enables you to
have all images show for the orbs buttons, navigation panel without the need to edit any dll's or exe's on your system you still need to have your theme files patched to use 3rd party themes.
so i downloaded and installed theme resource changer. i extracted the theme to
C:\Windows\Resources\Themes
i then went into cntrl panel/ personalise/themes but the new custom theme wasnt visable. i thought it may b because i installed theme resource changer. so i uninstalled it. but still no visable custom theme. i then gave up as i didnt want 2 start doing things i wasnt sure of.
what i want to know is. Can i just uninstall UxStyle Core Beta and my pc will b back to how it was b4 i installed it? Or do i need to do anything else ie sfc /scannow,do a system restore or anything else?
im not having any problems. i just want to go back 2 how my system was prior to this.
any and all help will b GREATLY apreciated. THANKS in advance

Just uninstalling it should work I reckon. If something is wrong after uninstalling you can always run sfc /scannow then. And if any further problems come up you can depend on this community to help you out I'm sure

EDIT:
Oh and if you want to change windows' looks again I suggest a tool called Samurize. Extremely easy to use and change themes. Pretty much just takes the click of a button.

cheers 4 the quick response. yeah i thought it should b ok 2 just uninstall as it only makes the pc think the files r patched. not actually patch them.
as 4 relying on this forum 4 help if need b. i agree this forum is the dogs nuts lol. super quick response times n 99% of the time its somebody who knows ecxsactly wot thier talkin about unlike a lot of forums ive seen in the past.
Samurize, i vaguely remember using that b4 but cant remember wot it was like.

i dont supose u would have a link 4 the new samurize site would u plz? i can get onto the site but its saying the forums r closed

is there a newer release of samurize than version 1.64.3? as this is the only 1 i can find and it dates bk to 2007. all forums are closed. it says online that it is compatible with Windows 7 but wen i try 2 install it says only compatible with win 2000, xp, can i just install by slecting compatible with xp?

Hi,

You should be able to install it in Compatability mode for XP but please make whatever backups you need to (and system restore) in case of failure.

You'll find that running an executable file for a theme normally tends to patch some of your system files, allowing for more manipulation required by the actual theme.

cheers 4 the quick reply. im prob just gonna leave it as im waitin 4 a mate 2 bring another hard drive 4 me to backup on. plus i dnt really like having 2 install older progs in a compatible mode..

Either running it as administrator and/or running it in xp compatability mode should work fine. I've only got it running on my old xp rig atm, since I'm messing around with my new win 7 rig. But people on the samurize forum say it works fine.
