Aero Transparency, can't restore or correct I'm at my whits end attempting to fix the Aero Transparency issue (running Windows 7 64bit Home Premium). I've tried clicking on the Windows 7 Areo Theme to try and default it. I've run the Transparency Trouble Shooter and selecting Apply/Advance Repair.
I've gone into the Desktop Session Manager to a Start, although I don't have the option to Start, only Restart or Stop. So I've stopped and tried to Start, with not effect.
I've removed LogMeIn and TeamViewer. I've removed/uninstalled/ driver cleaned the Nvida Drivers and downloaded the most recent update. I have a NVidia GeForce GTX 480. Its set on 1920x1200 32bit.
I'm completely stumped. | My System Specs |

If Maguscreed's suggestion doesn't work, there are 2 more suggestions I'd have: SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker Repair Install

I appreciate all the suggestions. After a fresh look at it this morning and going through filling out my Spec profile as Karlsnooks suggested, I discovered in the Device Manager that I had a LogMeIn Mirror Driver (under display adapters). Ironically, I was getting a 'Mirror Error' when running the Transparency Trouble Shooter.
So I went into the adapter tab and Uninstalled the LogMeIn Mirror Driver and I'm back to normal! Typically I'd just remove LogMeIn each time I used it and it would correct itself. This time it was a little more stubborn. On a side note, another common UI type issue I get often is having to rebuild the Icon Cache. | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 CPU Intel Core i7 960 Bloomfield Motherboard ASUSTeK Computer INC. I suggest you run sfc /scannow. WIN | tupe CMD.EXE | do NOT hit ENTER |
right-click on cmd.exe in the display list and choose Run as administrator
That part is referred to as "running from an elevated command prompt". WIN is the key with the Microsoft flag on top.
type following and hit enter: SFC /SCANNOW
If SFC (system file checke) shows no integrity violations found, you are ok. Otherwise, reboot your computer and run sfc /sannow again and reboot after the second time around again. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Toshiba Satellite S875D-S7239 laptop OS MS Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 64-bit CPU AMD A10-4600M Motherboard AMD Pumori (Socket FT1) Memory 6.00 GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 798MHz (11-11-12-28) Graphics Card AMD Radeon HD 7660G Sound Card High Definition Audio Device Monitor(s) Displays Generic PnP Monitor (1600x900@60Hz) Screen Resolution 1600x900@60Hz Keyboard Standard PS/2 Keyboard Mouse HP Wireless Optical Mobile Mouse Model FHA-3410 Hard Drives SSD 119GB Corsair CSSD-V128GB2 ATA Device Internet Speed What the local pub, local coffee shop offers.
