I've just lost aero feature in Win7 Ultimate

I've lost my properly working aero feature in win7 ultimate after installing & then uninstalling "Crystal clear pack for Win-XP" by mistake..
Now when applying any theme it switches to the basic theme..& I see the Window Color and Appearance dialog box instead of the Window Color and
Appearance window in personalization option in windows 7..
    And the aero troubleshooter shows-
    1. The current theme doesn't supports aero - not fixed
    2. Desktop windows manager is disabled - detected

    see attached images..

how can i get it back without repairing win7...
    please somebody help me out...

    thanks advance...

try opening an admin command prompt

    at c:\> type

    net stop UxSms <-hit enter

net start UxSms <- hit enter

also check thru control panel, admin tools, services that the dwm is not set as disabled. it should be set to automatic startup. (you can also start/stop/reset the service there rather than thru net.exe) i put the net commands in a .cmd file and run it from a desktop shortcut (set to run as admin) to fix the odd occasion dwm messes up.

    #contents of fixdwm.cmd
    net stop UxSms
    net start UxSms
    exit

    Thanks kronckew,
I've tried that but still same situation. I've solved that temporarily using
" Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\System " > Advanced system settings > performance settings > visual effects " & choose Adjust for best appearance option .. & it is done but when selecting another theme it leads to the previous sate.
    what to do??

    Welcome to the Seven Forums
Are you saying when using the default Windows 7 Aero theme all is OK?
When you say selecting another theme which theme are you selecting?
If you are using a custom third party theme did you patch your system files first?

    Thanks Jerry,
It's not the case.when I do that then it automatically selects a theme "Personalization > Aero themes > Windows 7". but, when I want to select "Personalization > Aero themes > Nature" or "Personalization > Aero themes > Nature" or try to customize one of them; then it happens..

Try a system restore to a point before you installed crystal-clear pack for XP System Restore

If that does not work or you cannot restore back that far try Option Two of this tutorial it will not harm any data or programs you have installed SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

if none of the suggestions work -

to me,backing up all necessary docs & doing a fresh install of OS is the best option
i remember sc**ing up windows xp, installing 3rd party themes packs & the OS getting cluttered.

but hoping you find a solution without having to do a fresh install
