You will need to do 1 of these 2 ways of Enabling custom themes for it to work.
Enabling Custom Themes - Windows 7
Or
Theme - How to Apply Custom Themes
Let me know.

Thanks. Good idea. But I am getting there. I have managed to gt the hyperlinks set to white. Now I can see them on this burgundy or a blue background. Still need to do a bit of fine tuning. Of course I lost the aero. But that's OK.

I like my new self made skin. Looks really nice and now I do not need the magnifier any more.

Try replacing the Black with the Blue if you want it more like your Linux.

The Windows 8 Logo ruins the theme

Yeah, I tried blue too and that is fine. But I like the burgundy even better. But maybe I make myself a few more. Now that I know the routine that is easy. And the black on the bottom suits me fine. It is not overwhelming - as if one was on a funeral. I think black is more compatible with the burgundy than blue would be.

You might want to check this out if any of those suit your liking. You can also make your own. It has more features than Windows has by default.

You can modify Windows Classic with JASMIN 3D Color Changer.

Infinite, thank you very much for your continued support. But I have managed to get the ultimate skin - and with on-board tools only. Have a look.

How did you customise the SevenForums site itself? I can't find any skins that match that.

It is the 'SF pastel' skin on the bottom left of each page.
