How do I change the WHOLE taskbar and I mean whole.

I was round my friends house couple of weeks ago and I realized that he didn't have a normal taskbar (windows 7 home premium) but he had like a 'Diablo 3' logo and then he had lots and lots of icons on both of its sides with a really nice animation when you hover over them with a mouse. My windows is Windows 7 Home premium x64

Do you have any idea how to get that effect with the logo etc...? He didn't have any kind of a bar on the bottom, just empty space with lots of icons.

Don't say that I should ask him because unfortunately I don't have any contact with him anymore and I moved houses so it's impossible for me to ask him.

it sounds like he had a dock with icons on it, possibly objectdock the full version which allows animated icons.
he would have had the taskbar hidden.
