Lost smooth transition effect on thumbnails from TaskBar Hello:
I upgraded my system (Dual Core 3.4GHZ Intel based server with 4GB RAM) from Vista SP2 to Seven SP1 (32 bits). At first login, when I hovered the mouse pointer over the taskbar icons to get the thumbnail preview, I got this nice smooth transition effect between icons.
But after a few days of use I lost the smooth transition effect; thumbnails now change in a fast, direct way.
I did a repair install to ensure system integrity; smooth effect was recovered after repair install.
But now, 2 days after repair install, smooth transition is gone again.
Already did a sfc /scannow and no integrity problems revealed.
Also tried a Microsoft Fix it for areo Glass, and other troubleshooting procedures; but no problem was detected.
Any ideas on how to recover the smooth effect, and what the problem might be?
Thanks. | My System Specs |

Thanks for your welcome, A Guy!
Provided registry tweaks modify delay time (time it takes for thumbnail to appear) but none restores the smooth transition effect.
Not a big deal to have lost this effect, but as a programmer always wonder why?
Thanks anyway. Let see if we get more ideas on the road. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Self assembled server based on intel parts OS Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 32 bits CPU Pentium(R) D CPU 3.40GHz 64 Bits capable Motherboard Intel DeskTop Board D945GTP Memory 4 GB (3.4 available) DDR 2 666 Mghz Graphics Card Intel(R) 82945G Express Chipset Family (256 MB) Sound Card Intel 82801GB ICH7 - High Definition Audio Controller [A-1] Monitor(s) Displays 1 LG FLATRON W1943C Keyboard Logitech Mouse Genius PSU 650 Watts Case Generic Cooling Intel Fan Hard Drives 1 SAMSUNG HD322HJ SATA300, 7200 RPM, 300GB Internet Speed 3.5 GHZ |

I'd suspect something software or hardware is interfering. You might try performing a clean start to see if it works ok then. Troubleshoot Application Conflicts by Performing a Clean Startup

The effect loss is caused by software After repair install made on April, 12th I backed up the registry. I did a registry restore to April 12 (used ERUNT) which recovered the smooth transition effect.
The effect loss is caused by software installed before this point. Don´t know yet what application causes the issue.
Issue solved for me with the registry backup.
A Guy is right it is a software problem coming from another application. Thanks to A Guy!

Glad you got it sorted, and are an Erunt user I'm assuming you won't need this, but just in case: Run ERUNT Autobackup as a task in Windows 7
Good job
