Control Panel shows "No screensaver." I cannot get one to be selected

Control Panel shows "No screensaver" I try to select a screen saver but it will not show as selected, so none work.

(I had a screen saver working and it has now stopped working after a re-start.)

    What to do?

are you on a domain? Is it greyed out at all , or does it let you choose the screen saver, but it doesn't set them properly?

Take a look at this. SFC /SCANNOW Command. It might help solve your issue.

If I double click on the Screen saver none icon, the Screensaver Settings box comes up. I can select a screen saver but when I hit apply, the Screensaver Icon in the main (personalization) box still says no screen saver

I tried the SFC scan. it says no corrupt files. I am no on a domain. Even though the Screen Save settings box will allow me to select a screensaver, it will not let me select any options (like wait time etc)

Just out of interest, do you really need a screensaver? It is designed to prevent burn in in CRT screens. LCD screens are not affected by screen burn in. You can always set desktop slideshows.

I don't truly need it, but I like the aquarium as it's peaceful. I'm more concerned that something might be wrong indicated by the change that stops it from running.
