Replaced shell32.dll but icons not changed

    Replaced shell32.dll but icons not changed


    hi , i already replaced the original shel32.dll with the custom one and restart , but after restart the icons wont changed :s any thoughts ? i already use the take ownership way , and use the system replacer programs.

    Try this - Icon Cache - Rebuild

    Depending on which icons you have replaced you may also need to change them in the imageres.dll too

    A lot of icons are in imageres.dll as Danny said but not all of them, if you post a few screenshots of the ones you want changed we can most likely help you.

    well i try to make all the icons on my laptop like this one Snow Leopard for Win7 FINAL by =sagorpirbd on deviantART
    the folder , and the left side icons..

    Looking at that theme I can see the creator did not provide a imageres.dll with those icons in it that is where you will find all of them. Do you have the icons you want to use there?

    well finally i find how to change the icon the navigation pane , i think that's enough :) now i just try to change the folder icons
