I think its better you call the co-worker who F'ed it up and tell him to undo the changes he made.

then I am screwed kat! not the sharpest tool in the shed! Im just gonna have to plow away at the system until i can find what he changed! Thanks for the help.

All the possible fixes are described earlier by Brink, koolkat77 and Chris1neji.

If it some stuff done by anybody, those actions would have fixed the issue already. As you have full admin rights, you can go for a factory restore. For backing up data, Copy & Paste - in Windows Recovery Console .

As you've apparently been reduced to grasping at straws, you might try looking through event viewer logs to see what may have changed during that time period.

As previously mentioned though, I'd also be on the lookout for malware.

Why Can't I change themes :(
I'm trying to install a new theme but when I try to I get a error message saying "this theme cannot be applied to the desktop windows 7" I've applied some patches using universal theme patcher but I still cant seem to change themes :( please help, thanks.
