Universal Theme Patcher x64 took away the ...

    transparent taskbar and startmenu.
They now look like windows 95 style .... errrrrrr

I dont even have the option in 'personalization' to check or uncheck transparency!

is there a reverse patcher :)
    system restore did nothing.

    Cheers

If you are talking about this patcher
Universal Theme Patcher x64 took away the ...-pa.png

Then go to system32 folder find "themeservice.dll" and "themeservice.dll.backup" now take ownership of both the files and rename "themeservice.dll" to "themeservice.dll.temp" and then remame "themeservice.dll.backup" to "themeservice.dll".

Now follow the above steps with "themeui.dll" and "themeui.dll.backup"
And also with "uxtheme.dll" and "uxtheme.dll.backup"..

    Now restart your pc.
    Hope that will be fixed.

Go to Mycomputer>system properties>performance and tools>display settings or somethinglike that. You should see a list with some checked boxes and some not checked. Make sure the bottom box is checked and the enable transperancy is checked.

I think sfc/ scannow resets those files for you.

    themeui.dll.backup
    uxtheme.dll.backup
    themeservice.dll.backup
This three are original files situated in system32 folder.
That patcher backed up the files renaming it to ".backup" extension while before patching the files so all you have to do rename this files and replace the current dll files.

    And that is all..

You can also use "sfc/ scannow" command as recommended by other members. This command will fix all corrupted files system files including this three files..

Nothing seems to work... even doing an upgrade with the disk didnt correct it.
Looks like i'm stuck with the basic theme.
Strange though, everything else has the aero transparency look, windows boarders, everything. even the taskbar has a transparent boarder but the centre part is windows basic.

oh well, maybe windows 7 SP1 will fix it

    Cheers
