Win7 stucked in classic theme after doing sfc scannow. How to return?

    Hello sir and ladies,
I am indeed in a really big need to solve this matter as I am going on a Trip tomorrow and rely on my laptop for my college works

So basically what I just did is that I was trying to solve my microSD card problem that Win7 kept asking to check and scan disk as if it is broken or somehow, but it was very normal to use.

So I tried to do in cmd, sfc /scannow and waited for a couple minutes then the Win7 asked me to reboot the laptop. So then I did.

    But ..
Somehow my custom theme that I had been using with Universalthemepatcher, just won't load. Even the Windows Start is still using this old look.

What do I have to sir / ladies ?
Really really rely my lifes on you thanks

You need to repatch those files, sfc/scannow will unpatch them.

    Or,

You can use this method Enabling Custom Themes - Windows 7

which just installs a service and isn't affected by sfc scans.

well yes i did create a restore point before - the thing is just that i had done a number changes in the system (installed programs and download some files in Gigabyte) which doesnt make sense if I had to restore the computer
But then I got to find this post
and just trying to re-patch the theme, reboot, changed the cursor, reboot, and finally changed the Windows Start icons.
so things are good now! :) thank you and sorry for making such a hectic situation (it happened at 3 AM, so yea .. )

will mark it solved and hope it could help the others :)

Yes sir - i did the same thing. It was a bit confusing in the first time because I read (somewhere in the forum) that says doing a sfc scannow will turn the theme back and everything will be normal. Then I tried and failed. And at that point I forgot the name and steps of how patching the custom theme because I patched mine like almost 3 years ago.

But no worry - aero theme is back and everything just went normal :)

Thank you everyone, do really appreciate the help
