    Backup for getting themes?

I've had my eye on Smarter7 VS (Browsing deviantART) for a while now, but the installation seems too risky. I'm willing to try it, but I need a way to make sure I can back up my old theme in case of me screwing up.

    Thank you for reading

    Welcome to the Seven Forums
See if these 2 tutorials help.
    Theme - Change or Save
Theme Pack - Create, Save, Install, and Delete

That theme(Smarter7 VS) is safe I installed it 2 days ago.
You will need to do 1 of these 2 ways of Enabling custom themes for it to work.
Enabling Custom Themes - Windows 7
    Or
Theme - How to Apply Custom Themes

I'm doing the second way you suggested, and everything was fine until step 9. I see the "Smarter7" theme file, but there are 2 other folders-"en-US" and "Shell". It said that there is usually 2 files, the theme and a folder. I tried to put all 3 in, just 2 in (both ways), and just the theme in but I found no luck. Sorry if it's something obvious, I'm so new to this stuff.

    Thanks

Delete all the Smarter7 theme folder/files you put in C:\Windows\Resources\Themes
Then start over put both 1 Smarter7 theme folder and 1 Smarter7.theme file in C:\Windows\Resources\Themes look at screenshots.
