Windows 7 - Aero disabled itself?

Heya,so I'm having problems with my Aero on Windows 7.

I defragged my system and wiped the free space at the same time (probably not a smart idea in hindsight, but I was in a rush) yesterday and I came home to my laptop...only to see that Aero is not working at all.

I've tried the fixing wizard that MS allows you to download.I have checked for updates on my drivers and there are none.I've tried running troubleshooting for Aero and it says my system is perfectly fine.Ran the sfc /scannow commands numerous times and that doesn't work.Hell, even adding in the UseMachineCheck,Blur, and Animation DWORDs in regedit didn't work, and neither did restarting Desktop Windows Manager Session Manager. And yes,DWMSM is set to automatic and currently running.

I have my visual effects set for highest quality,so I know Aero can't be disabled.I have absolutely no clue as to why my comp would just stop displaying Aero all of the sudden.

I'm currently using a HP Pavilion dv7-7023cl laptop. Here's the specs if it helps any:

    OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 6.1 64-bit
    Graphics: AMD Raedon HD 7640G
Processor: AMD A8-45000M APU w/ Raedon HD Graphics (1.9GHz) (4 CPUs)
    RAM: 6GB
    DirectX Version: DirectX 11

    Any help is appreciated.
