If you are changing the system files properly and you are changing them in both C:\Windows\System32 and C:\Windows\SysWOW64 then I'm not sure what's going on it should work.

Maybe you need to do a Repair Install and then try again.

Sorry but I am out of ideas

Did you ever do the sfc /scannow?

Did you ever tried the Repair Install?

What is your DPI setting at DPI Display Size Settings - Change small, medium or large?

I have tried all. Even I have just re-install Windows 7 Professional 64bit without updates and the new error appear at startup:
"explorer.exe Application error: The application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b). Click OK to close the application."

One moretime, I had to use Hiren's Boot Disc again. So sad!!!

Hololololololo! I have found what the heck caused this problem! The Take Ownership Option that I used is bad stuff of kAtz93 on dA. It caused all the troubles. For anyone who has the same problem with me, go here;Take Ownership Shortcut to get the best stuff!

    Problem was SOLVED!

Just found this thread because I'm having the same problem. Actually I never got explorerframe.dll replacement files to work so I want to tackle this once and for good.

I used a "Taker Ownership" reg file from deviantart but I removed it and tried the one originally suggested on these forums and STILL it won't work. Those explorerframe files belong to a theme I'm trying to apply. Without these files working the theme looks incomplete.

Edit: Looks like it works but not entirely. The icons are still the default windows icons.

    Welcome to the Seven Forums

Post a link to the theme and I will look at it.

Are you using 32 bit or 64 bit Windows 7?

    I'm using 64 bit.

This is the theme: Lucido by =kiko11 on deviantART

I might be wrong. I think that explorerframe.dll did work after all. I thought its suppose to change the icons as well but it only does that for the navigation buttons and it was just revealed to me that I need Iconpacker to change to those grey icons.

Hey, I just noticed a problem that I already encountered before when trying to replace explorerframe.dlls. It seems that the "favorites" are gone from the "file browse" window. Every time I have such window, the left pane is missing all these very important items so I can't access the desktop easily for saving a file.
