Windows theme changes to basic when I open Adobe Fireworks CS6

    Hello W7 Forums,

There are probably loads of these threads everywhere, so I am very sorry if this is a repeat of one.

Like the title says, whenever I open Adobe Fireworks CS6, my windows theme reverts to the basic colour scheme. I can change it back to its original theme, however, that is through the troubleshooting area, and I find it tedious to do so. The results also say that Desktop Window Manager Session Manager is disabled, even though I restart it and all sorts.

Whenever I come off Fireworks and return to it later, the same thing happens, and I have edited the registry and similar things as other people have written, but the problem persists.

I have no clue about video cards or anything like that, so I don't want to start interfering with those unless I have to.

Is there any way I can permanently stop the change from my theme to Windows 7 basic?

Thank you for reading this, and I hope that someone can help me, as it is getting frustrating.

Welcome to Seven Forums Windows7UserUK. Usually windows will disable Aero when the resources are too low. Adobe Fireworks CS6 is a very memory intensive program. As we do not know your System Specs

System Info - See Your System Specs

It could be your Video card, your Memory, or a combination of GPU, Memory, and even the CPU.

You can run the Aero troubleshooter, but it is most likely not a problem, but rather your hardware.

Guided Help: Troubleshoot Aero problems in Windows 7

You could add a Restart Aero Shortcut to more easily re-enable it after this happens, but preventing it is unlikely.

Thank you so much 'A Guy' for giving me a reply and a solution.

I know it doesn't stop it, but having Restart Aero in the context menu makes it so much easier

    Thanks again :)

First of all, thanks for this registry trick.

my laptop came with this specifications:
    Operating System : Windows® 7 ultimate 64-bit
    CPU: Intel® Pentium® P6200 Processor o 2.13 GHz, 3MB Cache
VIDEO: Mobile Intel® HD Graphics with 64MB-1696MB dynamically allocated
    RAM 4GB DDR3 1066MHz

with this specifications i have been working really well with adobe master collection cs5.5

just last week i replaced and upgraded my defective first generation cpu p6200 for an i3 - m370 first generation 2.4GHz ..
everything is working well except some programs of adobe cs5.5 which turn off the aero effects.

I haven´t reinstalled all the operating system because i have a lot programs which i will have to reinstall again.

so what i did was to try to install again adobe cs5.5. cs5 and other versions.
The only version which doesn´t turn off aero is in mi case adobe cs6 and cc.

But I still i have the problems fireworks
I´ve tried all the versions of fireworks and i still have the same problem. this program turns off aero effects.

In the same laptop i have running windows xp in a virtual machine with fireworks and is working well.

I would like to know if there is a way to tell windows 7 no turn off aero with fireworks cs6

If we can reactivate aero with the given trick after fireworks is on. there should be a way to tell windows no turn off aero with this program.

if there is not way. i would like to get some recommendations to fix this problem.

    thanks..

Thanks for the reply about UseMachineCheck, etc...

I tried even to force aero but even forcing it, everytime i open fireworks aero turns off.

you were right: preventing it is unlikely ...

Thanks anyways. I will stick with with the given trick "Restart Aero Shortcut"
If I sometime give a format to my computer and the problem with fireworks disappears, i will communicate to the forum.

    Thanks..

It is very common for Adobe programs to turn off Aero, this has been happening since Vista (and Aero). You can try running the program in compatibility mode (sometimes works). A Guy
