At my company I've managed to convince my boss to start replacing some of our very old macs running OS X 10.5.8 with custom built windows 7 PCs. I also replaced using an external HDD as a 'server' with... an actual server, running linux. The Linux server runs a samba share and everything is fine... until I've introduced this windows 7 pc. It connects fine and all that but there's no way to colour folders and files like you can on mac:

Yes there are customisations that allow me to do something very similar but the colours have to be displayed to the mac computers too. I don't even actually need the windows machines to show the colour, as long as the macs can see it (although it would be nice)
Colouring the folders + files is a very important part of our procedures and isn't something we can forego, colouring them afterwards on a mac would be a very big hassle with the amount of files we go through.
I used winhex and found the hex that determines colour so I guess I could actually write this myself but it would take me a long time, so if someone knows of anything that does this, it would be highly appreciated, thanks.
