I'm really dumb and feel like I wasted your time. I ran the 32bit instead of the 64bit version of the "Theme-How to Apply Custom Themes". Which is weird because I was already using a custom theme called "Pink Glass". It works perfectly now. Thank you for your help!

Trying to remove the desktop icon shadow text without success. Tried unchecking box in control panel / system / advanced system settings / performance settings / visual effects / use drop shadows for icon labels on the desktop but it did not help.

'load' cursor appears every 15 minutes?
After many Windows updates were automatically installed, I've noticed my 'Normal Select' cursor changing to a 'Working In Background' cursor every 15 minutes. What could be causing this?
