light/powder blue -> gray hack ???

is there any way to hack some file in Windows 7, even if using a hex editor, to get rid of the damn baby/powder blue that pervades menu/iconbars? Seems there should be way to globally alter that color somehow, change the light blue to a light gray. I hate to sound like i have OCD but that powder blue color drives me nuts, i just want it gone, it is so obtrusive and incompatible in an aesthetic sense with just about all themes and other color tweaks. I know Windowblinds can probably get rid of the blue, but I would prefer a free hack if possible, like i said even if it means using a hex editor on some compiled binary file.

Most of it is images in the aero.msstyles in C:\Windows\Resources\Themes\Aero folder, look from Post #51 on for some locations questions about system patchers &theme building in general

I would recommend that you start a new custom theme from scratch so you do not corrupt the original look at Post #38 Here it will show you how.

You will need to do 1 of these 2 ways of Enabling custom themes for it to work.

I think the easiest solution for me has been to go with Stardock.com Windowblinds. But even that did not get rid of the blue on the left panel of Thunderbird so I have migrated to Claws for my email. Also using WindowsFX to get wobbly windows like the Compiz effects in Linux. Honestly I have about had it with Linux, it freezes up on me occasionally and pretty much any app in Linux is now available for Windows, at least the opensource apps I like to use.
