Windows 7: 125% Message Boxes Spontaneously Change To 150% Boxes On Restart

125% Message Boxes Spontaneously Change To 150% Boxes On Restart

I run Windows 7 Home Premium x64 (Classic Mode), with the Display enlarged uniformly to 125% because of vision problems I have with font types, sizes, and colors. I do not use Aero Mode.

My monitor is ...
- HP w2338h on NVIDIA GeForce 9100
- Current Resolution - 1920x1080 pixels

When I first set up the default 125% Display resolution, the Personalize > Window Color (Windows Classic) Message Box looked as it should (please see attached Should-Look 125% Message Boxes.png [First screen image]).

However, after a few Shutdown/Restart cycles, all the 125% Message Boxes changed to 150% Display Mode, and stayed stuck there across additional Shutdown/Restart cycles. I have no problem using all these 150% Message Boxes, with one critical exception: the Windows Classic Message Box clips off so much display data that it becomes unusable for making further font/size/color changes to help my vision problems. The enlarged message boxes persist across Shutdown/Restart cycles, and switching back and forth between Classic Mode and Aero Mode (please see Should-NOT-Look 150% Message Boxes.png [Second screen image)

The only workaround I've found for this problem is to revert back to an earlier restore point which happens to have normal 125% size Message Boxes, where I can make the font/size/color changes I need. However, after a few Shutdown/Restart cycles, all my 125% Message Boxes again spontaneously morph to a 150% size on Restart.

Can anyone suggest a fix or workaround for this problem? I'm running out of 125% Message Box restore points to which I can revert.

Did the quote boxes change here recently?
I'm not a big fan of the way things look right now. Things seem to blend in together more and I don't see a good clear distinction between the quoted messages from above and the responses. Anybody else notice this, or is there another thread already discussing it (I searched, but didn't see any...
