Windows 7 x64 finally!

Do you have Aero enabled? Are you trying the default themes or a third party? I got that when trying a custom theme.

Try going ro Start Search programs and files and type in fix problems.Choose fix poblems with transparanct and visul effcts. This will bring up the Aero trouble-shooter to see if your video card suoport it

Have you installed all the latest drivers and made sure Aero is enabled?

Are you trying to install a third party theme? Doenload and install uxtheme multipatcher and try then.

Kinda true...
You just have to remember to take backup of the files, then you are pretty safe really.

I'm with Reghakr on this.

If you are not a Windows tech and know how to fix things when they break, stay away from UXTheme Patcher. At some point, it can (and probably will) hose your system.

And yes, if you don't want to lose data, ever,, keep backups, regardless of what you do.

Thanks Tepid.

I've screwed around with Resource Hacker often, but I understand how it works.
