Cannot change theme after uninstalled DreamScene

    Hi everyone,

My desktop (Windows 7 32-bit) has been experienced the problem for a week. The problem is that i cannot change the wallpaper and the theme. This problem starts right after I've uninstalled DreamScene.

The attachment is below this post. I cannot delete the 'unsaved theme', everytime I press the other themes, it jumps back to the 'unsaved theme'.

Yesterday, I discovered that I can change the solid color settings, but still, I cannot select any picture file to be the wallpaper.

Is there any solution? Please help me because I really want to get back my wallpaper slideshow feature

    Thank you so much

Two things come to mind, first open the Aero Troublshooter from Help and Support and run it. If that doesn't solve the problem, the only other thing that I can think of is to do a System Restore prior to the uninstallation. Obviously, that would mean needing to uninstall Dreamscape again, which could lead to the same problem again, but maybe not, if you used some other way to do the uninstall. Take note of any changes that are listed in the System Restore so that you can anticipate any other actions that you may need to perform.

Before doing the above, you can just try this simple idea. Just click "Get More Themes Online" and download any theme. By default, Windows 7 should apply the downloaded theme automatically. If this works, then try switching the other themes :)

Thanks for ur reply, Venthan :)

    Anyway... the method doesn't work

After I've pressed the other theme(s), the wallpaper still didn't change to what it should look like. When I tried to delete the "solid black" custom theme, it just copied the custom.theme to the recycle bin instead of delete it.

Is there any way to reset all the theme settings, such as delete the folder which contains all the user theme settings? Please help me, thanks!

Did you bother to follow seekermeister's advice?

Do a system restore previous to the DreamScene install.

This may be a long shot but I would run a SFC /scannow which will fix any corrupted system files.
