    Themes Problem

    Hello,

Thought I'd experiment with the Themes.

I am presently using, I believe, the Classic View.

Anyway, I go to Personalize, and the Themes page comes up.

i see the "Aero Themes (7)" choices.

If I click on any of them, either right or left button mouse clicks, absolutely nothing happens, or changes. It's as if the making a choice is locked, or not allowed.

I thought from my reading that all you have to do is select one of the Aero icons, e.g., "Nature," and everything immediately changes so you can preview it, and then select it (somehow) if you would like it to be permanent.

But, my clicking on any of them does nothing.

Any ideas why this might be ?
Undoubtedly my doing something wrong, as usual.

    Thanks,
    Bob

Yes, It should simply just switch over to the chosen Aero theme when you click on one of them.

The only reason I can think of ATM, is maybe the graphics card will not support the Aero theme and Win7 has disabled it, or the service itself is disabled.

Although this may not be the case.

What CPU and GPU are you running?

    Hi,

    Thanks for help.

Have a new HP PC with one of the new Intel Quad micro p.

    Running Windows Home Premium.

The graphics card should be a good one, as I payed extra to get a "better" one when I ordered PC. A Radeon something, I believe.

BTW: Where in "Services" should i look to see if it is disabled as you suggested ?
What, exactly, should I be looking for ?

    Thanks,
    Bob

If you scroll about 3/4 of the way down you will see "themes" listed and it needs to show as started, should be set to automatic.

    From OP: Joy !

    Hi,

You two guys are just great !

The mentioning of "Services," and how to adjust the Themes in Services.

    That did it.

Would never have figured it out by myself.

Funny thing, though: Themes worked at one time, up to about a week ago.
    New HP PC.

Think there is something I "fiddled" with that might have changed it ?
I have never gone to "Services" before, so hard to imagine what.

A bit disturbing to think that these things can change by "themselves"

BTW: I just downloaded some of the extra themes that it said were available.
The downloaded file now resides in my Download File.
How do I actually access and utilize/pick it ?

Thanks again so much; really appreciate it.

Usually if you just click on those theme packages you can save them, you install them by hitting the "open" button after that.
Here are some more theme's in case you need them. my 7 themes . net

I'am not sure how the services for theme's could have been turned off.,
