Theme reverts back on it's own!

Ok this one is driving me nuts.

In my themes window under 'my themes' I have my own theme that I use most of the time and somehow a split image of that theme titled 'unsaved theme' but with the screensaver turned OFF. I am not sure how this one got there but no matter how many times I switch back to 'my theme' and even DELETE the 'unsaved theme', either after a sleep/wake or reboot, it always comes back and reverts back to 'unsaved theme' which is the same thing but screensaver turned off! In the attached image you won't see the 'unsaved' one as I once again have deleted it but somehow it eventually reappears and becomes magically selected.

    Anyone?

    * This occurs when you change the Desktop Wallpaper to a new one. Then the current theme may be saved as 'Unsaved Theme'.

    * So you can always copy to the Desktop Background Folder of the saved Theme. As you may know, themes will be stored here by default:

    C:\Users\Admin\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Themes

It occurs if you change basically anything with your current used theme..A color, sound, screensaver..

If you can believe, I still have this issue. What I think is happening is some mystery program when run is turning my screen saver OFF. As a result, this turns into a 'new unsaved theme' and stays that way. The question is now, what software is automatically turning my screen saver off?? I would suspect one of my media programs (WMP, Media Monkey, iTunes,) but am not sure.

Bump. I have this problem on all 3 of our computers.

Even if you change nothing, Windows creates a new unsaved theme on it's own. And, that new unsaved theme gets "stuck" on one wallpaper and changes the sound theme to windows default theme.

I've scoured the message boards, but there's not a fix.

Most people that are trying to be helpful usually offer up the "if you changed something Windows does this intentionally" advice. However, that is not the case with this problem as even when you change nothing, Windows still creates a new unsaved theme.

I had the very same problem right now and it was clearly related to McAfee virus scan that my gf had installed with adobe reader or something. Never have had this problem before. I'm posting to this old thread since it's still number one in google.
