i recently opened a program i have used many times, but on opening the program a box popped up saying that the program could not be supported but this form of windows although it had been fine up until this point. the program opened but the themes on my computer have now changed to a very basic form for windows 7 ,,,,, basically it seems as though aero has been switched off, also the taskbar has been affected, it is no longer see through or the correct colour, it is not a simple case of going into themes and editing it there and it does not work if i simply right click on the taskbar so please do not reply with these suggestions.

Hello Adam, and welcome to Seven Forums.

Double check these two items to see if they may be the issue.
  • The desktop composition option need to be enabled in Visual Effects.
  • The Desktop Window Manager Session Manager and Themes Services need to be set as Started and Automatic.
Hope this helps,
Shawn
