As far as the default options go with Windows 7, you'll find your pointer options in the Personalization category of the Control Panel.
Control Panel > Appearance & Personalization > Personalization > Change Mouse Pointers
If you want to change the color of Selected Items, Go to the Personlization Menu again and Select Window Color at the Bottom
Pull up the Drop Down list and select "Selected Items"
If you want to change more than the options you see through those menus, check into software that changes your theme.
thanks.
i am interested in the selected items option.
But in windows 7+with the aero, the colors doesnt work.
The changes are visible only if i select the basic theme.
I am interested to use a custom color when i select items, on the aero theme.
for example, how can i change this yellow selection color?
You will need 2 thing to do this;
A photo editing software like Photoshop, Gimp etc.
Windows Style Builder (http://www.vistastylebuilder.com/)
Here's how;
1. Go to C:\Windows\Resources\Themes\Aero
2. Copy the Aero.msstyles to your desktop
3. Open the aero.msstyles in WSB
4. Find and edit the following images;
For Desktop:
Explorer & Shell > Explorer > ListView > ListItem > Hot
Explorer & Shell > Explorer > ListView > ListItem > Selected
Explorer & Shell > Explorer > ListView > ListItem > SelectedNotFocus
Explorer & Shell > Explorer > ListView > ListItem > HotSelected
For Explorer:
Explorer & Shell > Explorer > Items View > ListView > ListItem > Hot
Explorer & Shell > Explorer > Items View > ListView > ListItem > Selected
Explorer & Shell > Explorer > Items View > ListView > ListItem > SelectedNotFocus
Explorer & Shell > Explorer > Items View > ListView > ListItem > HotSelected
Now edit these as you wish and save your msstyles when your finished.
Now your ready for the next step, which you can find on this link
There's no such tutorial yet, but there is a bunch of helping threads at Virtual Customs - Home and i'm in the progress of making a big WSB location tutorial
About the icons, i'm not sure. I would try to reboot and see if the problem is gone after that
done it.
i dont know exactly wich of the commands was, but i managed to change it.
somewhere arrownd selections. i didnt managed to find that yellow color, so i dont know from where it comes, but i changed only some blue color tints...
