Location of theme jpeg

Hi,

I installed a few themes and love some of the photos. I want to use a few for my XP laptop. The laptop can't possibly run Win7, else I'd upgrade.

Where are the jpeg(?) files from a theme located? Can I just copy them to my XP system (via USB stick if needed)?

Thanks,
MikeC

Hi Mike,

Check out this thread: Where does Windows7 Desktop Theme Wallpaper get stored?

Let me know if that has the info you're looking for.

When you right click on the desktop > personalize > desktop background (bottom left), you will see the path to the location of that particular theme above the pictures. That way you can see the location for any theme you set.

That looks like it. I found jpegs from themes via the "get more themes" link. I might have found the ones that came with Win7 too (forget right now, only want one lighthouse photo anyway.)

Thanks!

Saving to a library location that is NOT the default save location
OK, I've googled and searched for this as much as I can. I'm a new Windows 7 user. I have a library (Documents) with three folders included. Call them folders A, B, and C. I understand how to set the default save location. Let's say I've set it to Folder A. Now, I want to save a file in *Folder B*...

JPEG, now you see it...
now you don't. Basically, I save a JPEG onto desktop. I know I have. I open Windows Explorer, I see it on there. If I am looking flat straight at desktop----which only has two icons it..I don't see it. Now why would that be?
