Hi i am new to this so i am sorry if i have done anything wrong.
so i am trying to use a windows visual style file to change the appearance of my windows 7 PC to look like a mac. so i have the file and it is in my themes file in the windows folder. however when i double click on any style files it takes me to the windows colour and appearance screen and i dont think that it should do that. can anyone help me please as i dont know what to do!

Hi, if you're looking to make your PC look like a Mac then I would recommend using the theme and tutorial by ZEUSosX, a member of this forum. The download and tutorial is available here.

Please thank ZEUSosX if you get a chance.

You will need to patch some system files before you can use third party themes.... Universal Theme Patcher

what do u mean '' when i double click on any style files it takes me to the windows colour and appearance screen''?
if it takes you to windows clasic theme that possible means that , if you use uxcore utility for enablng your system accept 3rd party themes, that means that uxcore does not work.
now i will explain to u why: usually because of a specific microsoft's updates.
what you have to do, and is important to do this so, is first go to Control Panel\Programs\Programs and Features and uninstall uxcore [even if it does not working, you have first to uninstall it]

then restart your system [this is important].
then install the uxcore .
then restart. thats it.

[also some times because of specific microsoft's updates, shell32.dll have to be replaced again.]

if for any reason none of this works to you, follow the Tews good suggestion and use Universal Theme Patcher

what i see here is microsoft aero theme.

if u mean that Universal Theme Patcher works ok, but u can not apply the themes, and you are new user, also look this simple:
when in istructions is written :
.....
3. Copy all the folders included in the folder 'Macos X Themes by ZEUSosx' [after unzip all files, and copy them to C:\Windows\Resources\Themes ,provided C is your Windows drive).
...

so you have Not to copy the folder that include my themes to C:\Windows\Resources\Themes ,but first you have to open the folder that include my themes, select all of them, copy and paste to C:\Windows\Resources\Themes.
