    Delete custom themes

Just wondering if anyone can help?

I am having some problems deleting custom themes from my theme folder. Right clicking in the personalize screen does not bring up the option and if I try to manually delete the folder I get a message saying the file is in use.

    Thanks all :)

Hmm, that's something new. The trojan must have been trailing the download. That happened to me the other day on a completely benign download too. Try this site (Filehippo) which is completely secure.

PS: Could have been a false positive too. MSE is not as good as some people suggest - at least in my experience after running it for a while on 3 systems.

Don't know if it's what you mean, but I found the "trick" to deleting themes is to use the arrow keys to move the focus rectangle to non-active themes, and then press the delete key to delete them.

Microsoft Security Essentials detects a " virus " because Unlocker has an option
to install a shortcut to Ebay. This option can be unchecked during the
installation of Unlocker and is harmless.

I have set MSE to ignore this False Positive and have been using Unlocker for
    several years without any problems.

It works great and I highly recommend it.

This is where a dock comes in handy.
Open Task Manager and kill explorer.exe
    Leave Task Manager open!
Use the dock to navigate to the Themes Folder and delete the unwanted theme.
    Kill explorer.exe in Task Manager
    Restart explorer.exe
    Too easy!

Okay, here is what you do.
First off, switch to another theme, so the one you wanna delete is not in use.
Then open taskmanager and kill the explorer.exe process, and start it again.
    Now go to C:/Windows/Resources/Themes
In there find the folder and .theme named the same as the theme you wanna delete, and just delete them.
    Now it's gone :)
