    Win 7 Themes Problem

    Hi everyone;
    I'm new here and I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this.
    I recently downloaded a theme pack from Microsoft's website, although when I tried to run it, I got an error saying "This edition of windows doesn't support themes."!
    I don't really understand why I'm getting such error, I'm using an HP Pavilion dv6 - 1330et laptop.
    Can anyone help, please? :)

    Depending on which version of Windows 7 you're using, you may not have access to certain features. To browse the features each version allows you to use, see the link below...

    Windows 7 editions - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

    To find out which version of Windows 7 you're using:
    Start > Right Click Computer > Properties

    Well, if the information about your OS you have entered earlier is correct, then it doesn't make sence
    Can you link us to that theme you got the error with?
    Only Windows 7 Starter can't apply other themes than default aero from what i know. Home Premium should be able to.

    Oh, my mistake apparently I'm using Windows 7 Home Basic. I've mixed it with my old laptop which it was Windows Vista Home Premium.
    So, Win 7 Basic doesn't support themes?

    Awww
    Then I suppose I should install Home Premium, or maybe Professional. If only I could find an install cd >.<
