How to Use Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor

This will show you how to download and use Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor to get a report to see if your computer can run Windows 7. When the report is finished you will see which upgrade options are available and get guidance on fixing the system, program, and devices issues it finds before you install Windows 7.
Note
Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor will run on the following 32-bit and 64-bit operating systems:
- Windows 7
- Vista
- XP with SP2
Warning
Before scanning your PC with the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor, be sure to plug in and turn on any USB devices or other devices, such as printers, external hard disks, and scanners, that you regularly use with the PC you're checking.
Here's How:
1. Download and install
Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor.
2. Plug in any USB devices or other devices such as printers, external hard drives, or scanners that are regularly used with the PC you're evaluating.
NOTE: This way they can be evaluated as well for compatibility with Windows 7.
3. Run Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor.
4. You will see this for a moment while it checks for updates to the program. (See screenshot below)
5. Click on the
Start check button. (See screenshot below)
6. It will now start checking your computer's compatibility. (See screenshot below)
NOTE: This may take a few minutes to complete.
7. When finished, you will see a report on which upgrade options are available and get guidance on fixing the system, program, and devices issues it finds before you install Windows 7. (See screenshot below)
NOTE: This example report below was from Vista SP2.
