You say align it. Will it be alligned if I do diskpart? Sorry, I'm brand new to the world of SSD.

Yes, it's the 5th line in the process:
    Create partition primary align=1024

You align it manually after entering diskpart:

Enter diskpart from a command prompt; these would be the commands:

    Diskpart (to enter diskpart)
List disk (to get diskpart to show you a list of disks it sees; you should have only the SSD connected)
Select disk n (where n is the number that diskpart says applies to the SSD; normally it's 0; might be 1)
Clean (wipes the drive clean if anything is on it)
Create partition primary align=1024 (this creates and aligns a primary partition)
Format fs=ntfs quick (this formats the SSD with NTFS file system)
Active (this makes the partition active)
    Exit

After this, will the SSD be ready to add the Windows 7 image?

I was hoping to image my ssd (tomorrow when everything arrives) but I'm reading that because my PC was set to raid and not AHCI when 7 was installed I won't be able to do anything but a clean install. Is this correct, or is there something I can do to make it work?

Nah, that has nothing to do with it. Leave it set to Raid.
