Hello George,
Yeah, that option is mostly for those that just wanted to copy/restore the message back into Windows Live Mail instead. :)
Hi Shawn,
Just for learning purposes, I attempted to restore a single message that was saved by me using the method you described above.
It failed, possible because I'm using WLM Version 2009 (Build 14.0.8117.0416). In my opinion, its more easier to use, I don't get Movie Maker included when installing Live Photo Gallery. LPG has better editting features also.
Hi Brink I've only just been able to meet and try the export and import again today. the same thing happened. Many headings are there of the emails. There are mulitple subfolders in the storage folders and are not ordered like they were originally. The same message appears when I try to open a imported email ' Message cannot be found. The contents of this message cannot be found'. Do you have any other suggestions? hopefully
Wwespee,
I'm not sure what might be wrong. Are you using the steps exactly as outlined in METHOD ONE to export and import all email messages with the new folder?
What antivirus program are you using? If it has an email scan option, then you might disable or uninstall the AV program temporarily to see if that may be interfering with the import.
The export message function does not work. Only one folder is exported
Hello Dean, and welcome to Seven Forums.
Double check to make sure that you created a new folder to import into, and that you have the All folders option selected at step 8 Option One of METHOD ONE.
Hope this helps for now. :)
"Flagged"
Am I expecting too much when importing from another PC?
"non-Hotmail"
Only these accounts (majority) took me for a spin; hotmail items were imported into proper place AND the "Flagged" were intact. BTW, it took me a few hours to realize the existence of "Storage Folders" at the bottom.
This thread ranks way up there in my book when asking for help from forums. Saved the rest of my day.
Thank you
Hello Bolohead, and welcome to Seven Forums.
If you export all of your message folders for an email account, then flagged messages should also be included in it. I find that setting your email account settings to "save a copy of messages on server" to help making it easy to have them back whenever you have to setup you email account on the same or another computer.
Hope this helps, :)
Shawn
Nice tutorial as usual Shawn.
I can copy my backup folder to a HDD but I get a warning saying I cannot copy to a USB flash drive. Can you think of a reason why this may be the case?
