Internet Explorer Tabs - Drag and Drop

How to Drag and Drop the Tabs in IE9, IE10, and IE11

   Information
This will show you how to drag and drop the tabs as a new feature in IE9, IE10, and IE11 to arrange them how you like in the same IE window, move a tab as a new IE window, or move a tab into another opened IE window.

OPTION ONE

To Drag and Drop Tabs to Rearrange Order in Same IE9/IE10/IE10 Window

NOTE: This is the same way as it is in IE8.
1. In IE9, IE10, or IE11, left click or press on and hold the tab that you want to rearrange. (see screenshot below)
Step1.jpg
2. Drag the tab left or right to move it where you like within the other tabs. (see screenshots below)

OPTION TWO

To Drag and Drop Tabs in a New or Another IE9/IE10/IE11 Window

NOTE: This can be real handy if you have multiple IE windows opened on multiple monitors. This will let you drag and drop tabs across multiple IE windows and/or monitors.
1. In IE9, IE10, or IE11, left click or press on and hold the tab that you want to move. (see screenshot below)
Step1.jpg
2. To Move a Tab to a New Internet Explorer Window
A) Drag the tab out of the current IE window. (see screenshot below step 1)
Step2.jpg
B) Move the tab to where you would like the new IE window to be on the desktop of any monitor.

C) Release the left click to drop the tab at that location as a new IE window with that tab opened in it. (see screenshot below)
Step3.jpg
3. To Move a Tab into Another Opened Internet Explorer Window
NOTE: This is if you wanted to move a tab from one opened IE window to another opened IE window, or back.
A) Drag the tab out of the current IE window. (see screenshot below step 1)

B) Move the tab to the tab bar location in any other opened IE window.

C) Drag the tab left or right to move it where you like within the other tabs in this new IE window.

D) When you have the tab where you like, release the left click to drop it there. (see screenshot below)

That's it,

Hello civicchic, and welcome to Seven Forums.

Sorry for the late reply. I've been hunting, but I cannot find any way or setting that will disable the ability to drag and drop tabs in Internet Explorer when tabbed browsing is turned on. :(

I've been looking for the same thing for MSIE 11, but have had no luck so far. :(

The sad thing is that I believe I found the answer once before on another computer, IE 9 was the browser I think. I can't find the page again now... I'll post if I find it.

It's been driving me crazy accidentally dragging tabs into new windows!
