I'd have to agree with you on that as well. It sure seems like EMET is blocking or doing something to not allow them to run.

    Brink

Did anyone figure out how to know it is working?
    That is "turned on".

I read your directions 3 times and the pdf 3 times.
I set per your instructions and all software so far functions.

I set "Configure System" to max and rebooted.

This is what I'm showing- bottom Snip. Running EMET column is empty- totally.

"System" has a question mark as it always has since install in December.

I thought I would take a look at EMET since the SP1 update and I'd see if this was working or not. Still haven't a clue.

    Hello Mike,

From your screenshots, EMET is working properly. EMET will gray out the DEP settings in the top screenshot since EMET is being used. You can go through the EMET User Guide from the link in the tutorial for detailed information on how it's suppose to work though.

    Hope this helps some,
    Shawn

    Thanks Derekimo and Brink.

    Found the window.
DEP tab selections are grayed out as you said it would be so I guess everything is working properly.

It just would be nice to have something showing so you know the EMET was definitely active and working properly. LOL

Just as long as those checkmarks stay green, you're ok. :)

Hey Brink, I just recently encrypted my virtual page file. Before I encrypted it, I installed the EMET program first. At this time, when I opened task manager and had IE running, the description would include something like "EMET- Internet Explorer- Bing." However, after encrypting, it is now just "Internet Explorer- Bing" Did the encryption do anything to EMET or affect it? Or maybe I am just seeing thiings...?

    Hello Windows 911,

Nar, I don't think it would have. It sounds like that would just be the title of the tab that you may have had open (active tab) in Internet Explorer displaying in Task Manager at that time vs now instead.
