The thing is I was going to sell my comp so I was just going to reinstall windows but I was too stubborn knowing my comp has very bad crashing issues ATM due to ram or motherboard issues. During the beginning stages of the download my comp crashed. I'm still hating myself for trying it. Idk if it helps but I did see the required folders under x:. Maybe the issue is I do not have the right files under c: d: or e:?

Or maybe the issue is I did the tutorial using x:? I did that because i also didn't have the right files for step 8 for my c: d: or e:
Yeah, the download is most likely corrupted. You'll need to have an uninterrupted download to use. You could download it from another computer if needed.

Did the computer come with Windows 7 preinstalled? If so, you should still have an OEM factory recovery partition that you may be able to use reinstall Windows back to factory conditions. Post back with what brand and model the computer is, and I'll be happy to see if I can find instructions for how to.

Hey Brink, i Still havent gotten my laptop to work, but i was going through the steps again and when i got to MD Mybackup it says "A subdirectory or file Mybackup already exists" and that was the first time i did that. So how can check if that is the right thing and should i continue with the steps?

Zkhan,

Step 11 is to create the MD Mybackup folder. Since it says it's already been created, you could just continue on to step 12 and so on.

Zkhan,

The important part is that they are not zero, so you should be good to go to continue the steps.

Hey Brink,
The peppermint 3 backup, if i used my external hard drive would it be fine because i have a lot of things i want to take off of it. Wondering because in the peppermint 3 page it says the usb gets formatted so would that ruin my external hard drive

The only thing that would be formatted would be the USB flash drive that you use to create the Peppermint 3 on. Otherwise, you would just be copying and pasting to the external drive.
