    I understand now Brink.
How about these parallel bars, was anybody able to get rid of them?

Was Aero Peek for the desktop clear before or when you undo the tutorial?

    Good question.
The parallel bars existed before as well, I just tried it.
Does that mean we're unable to get rid of them period?

Just tested on my system again, and the bars are there for the desktop Aero Peek before and after the tutorial. The tutorial is only for the window borders. For now, I do not know of a way to change Aero Peek like that.

Yep, the stripes are quite annoying...

    How about this, still working?

Somewhat related to the topic, to get rid of those slanted stripes that appear on the title bar when you have Aero on go into the Registry and change:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\DWMColorizationGlassReflectionIntensity

to a lower value. Zero will get rid of the stripes while a lower number will make them less obvious.

This takes affect after a reboot or you could stop then restart DWM.

    Hello LFB,

Yep, the tutorial still works for this in the Windows 7 RTM. :)

    LFB,

I tired the registry edit without enabling full clear glass transparency and I could still see the stripes.

That's because you have to enable it after the registry edit to remove the stipes.

    No go for me

I tried the edit with and without the tutorial.
    It worked with you?

    Are you running 7600?

    Egydarceyes,

Strange, it does works in the RTM (7600 builld) using the tutorial to make the window borders completely transparent. It the build I have.

Try starting at the STEP ONE section and doing the option for ALL USERS instead. It's critical that each step is followed exactly, so double check to see if a mistake may have been made along the way to.
