Hm, this didn't work for me. I installed RT Seven lite, realized that I had chosen the wrong version by mistake and went to remove it. First problem was that it did not register as being installed and I could not install over the top of it with SP1 version. I ended up restoring a system image to get rid of the program.

Once everything was rebooted, I installed the SP1 version of Rt Seven Lite. It got to the SP1 addition stage. The thing took TWO hours to complete 32% of 'preparing'. Needles to say I gave up and hard rebooted, and re re instated the latest system image to get rid of the program and traces of the procedure.

I am not best pleased by this program and will most likely now just burn the SP1 ISO to a DVD. But for this install, I'll just install it via Window's Update.

Ok I think you have chosen the wrong version of RT lite. If you have a x32bit computer choose the x86 version near the bottom of the page or click this :- http://www.pub.rt7lite.com/7lite-rc-beta-1726-dec6-10-stable/rt_7_lite_win7_Vista_x86_sp1.exe. If you have the x64bit computer then choose the x64 version at the bottom of the page or click this :- http://www.pub.rt7lite.com/7lite-rc-...ta_x64_sp1.exe. Take it slow and try to understand what is going on with RT Seven Lite.

Last year I created an install DVD that would allow me to choose which edition of 7, and x32 or x64, to install. After reading the instructions, it appears the utility only updates one edition of 7 (the one ticked) and either the x32 or the x64.

So for example the tutorial used the Ultimate Edition of 7 x64. Is it possible then to installed the Pro
Edition of 7 off of the DVD or ISO with the SP1 updates?

    I chose the x64 version.

Yes I followed all of the steps up to the SP1 patch, I chose the extracted X64 version from the ISO. Then it just stuck at 'preparing'.

Correct, the RC 1.7.0 build does not include the SP1 Slipstream option. Only the Beta 2.6.0 build does.
    Ooops.

You should have had a RT 7 Lite (64-bit) uninstall entry in Programs and Features to uninstall the program with. Is this what you say was not there?

Did you change the Set priority setting to High first in step 4B to help speed the slipstreaming process up some. The slipstreaming process will take a while to complete, and could take longer on systems that are not real fast or if you had the priority level set to the default Normal.

Did you have anything else running that may have interfered with this?

You might start from scratch and start over with nothing else running using the High priority to see if that may help.

    Hope this helps for now,
    Shawn

    Hello Robert,

I was able to select a different Windows 7 edition at step 6 than what the Windows 7 ISO was for to create a slipstream of the selected Windows 7 edition instead.
