Hi Shaun
The tut works great and the install went fine i just have 920mb of backup files showing in disk cleanup again that dont seem to even be there. This is the second disk ive tried now and the iso was copied from an origional disk.Just dont understand it.Can only presume its the copy of sp1 i downloaded.I will wait now until its released and try again.

Remember this method is not supported by Microsoft. If something were ever to go wrong, before during or after Microsoft will not provide support. This includes post-SP1 updates or any other problems you might have due to SP1. Just throwing that out there.
I just did some testing with the slipstream I created with the SP1 RTM from TechNet, and I get the same Service Pack Backup Files listed in Disk Cleanup. Disk Cleanup and Extended Disk Cleanup did not remove it. The SP1 Disk Cleanup Tool will not run for a slipstreamed Windows 7 SP1. Doesn't look that there is a way to remove it yet.
It's not going to hurt anything, and the slipstreamed Windows 7 SP1 will run the same as a retail Windows 7 SP1. It would be nice to have the space (530 MB for me) on the HDD back.
Sounds like a stupid question but, will it work with a Student upgrade disc?
Can I use it to upgrade from Vista to sp1?
If you want to do Vista, have a look at these.
