You would have to slipstream both 32bit and 64bit versions of SP1 at the exact same time when having both kernels on the same disk. You won't be able to slipstream let's say the 64bit SP1 after the 32bit has been applied. You would immediately run into a conflict.

One concept which might make it possible would take some imagination as well as some other 3rd party help of creating two separate ISOs(32, 64bit) and then finding a way to burn both images onto the same blank made bootable with some type of iso selector for choosing which kernel would be installed or used for a repair. For all practical application besides some advanced programming involved the two separate disks or flash drives is what would be put to use by the average user and be the recommendation.

Here I still have both a dvd and flash drive slipstreamed for the 32bit but as a result of testing the program since the primary OS in use here is the 64bit Ultimate. A fast temp install on a VM would likely be the only need for the 32bit here at this point. For others due to hardware/driver situations they would be running the 32bit.(like the previous dsl setup here lacking 64bit support. )

Just FYI i made this slipstream Win7 HP SP 1 back in Feb. and had not had a need to test it. Bought an SSD two weeks ago and used the DVD i made and it went flawlessly, there are still about 65 updates since SP1 that have to be done, which i wish there was a rollup for but it's still better than doing over 200 without SP1.

Hey all - I followed this great tutorial, and was able to make a DVD fine, but when trying to do the 'usb-bootable' option, when I select the drive (f12) at startup, I get an 'invalid system disk' error (I see the files on the drive from windows). any ideas?

I tried booting into windows recovery and running the bootsect /nt60 command on the drive too, but it still gives me the same error.

    Hello Crudo,

Are you getting this error before or after selecting to boot from the USB drive in the boot menu?

The bootable USB may not have worked out when created the first time. You might try creating another one to see if that may be the issue.

After hitting F12 during POST the drive option to boot from comes up and I select the USB option. My desktop has several USB options (floppy/cdrom/hdd), and I selected USB-HDD. My laptop isn't so fancy and only has one USB option but I get the same error. I think you're probably right and it was corrupted somwhere during the process. Mercury in retrograde, no doubt.
