Well then, it's good to know the msu's are still around. Thanks.

Anytime. EXEs sure would have thrown a damper with slipstreaming.

    Hello andjatik,

It sounds like you are not in the correct View update history location at step 2A.

Install all offline updates at once

I've downloaded all offline updates for Windows7 x86 using Windows Updates Downloader http://www.windowsupdatesdownloader....reenshots.aspx . Is it possible to install all updates at once on a fresh system?

There is another program called WSUS Offline Update (WSUS Offline Update - Update Microsoft Windows and Office without an Internet connection) . It can download all offline updates and install them at once, but it requires to download the updates again through it............. Is it possible to install the updates that I've already downloaded with "Windows Updates Downloader" using this program(WSUS Offline Update) as I don't want to waste 1.5 GB of my internet balance?

Or there is any other way to do so?

    Hello asif143,

If you like, you could use the method and program in the tutorial below to create a slipstream Windows 7 ISO that includes all of the Windows Updates with it. You could use the ISO to create a bootable DVD/USB, but I'm not sure they will all fit on a DVD though.

Slipstream Windows 7 SP1 into a Installation DVD or ISO File

    Hope this helps, :)

    Hi, Brink
Nice tutorial. But what about installing after downloading separate msu files. Should double click the required msu files . By the by how to check that all the windows updates shown as failed in the view updates history are installed successfully.
I am asking this question, because, is there a bug in the view update history showing files of some updates failed but actually installed successfully afterword, either by the fix it or the diag tool which fixes most of window updates problem. I will try to give link for the both tools in my next post
I found that questions related to windows updates are major contribution to the threads.

    Hello jraju,

Yes, you would just need to double click on the downloaded .msu file to install it.

For failed updates, you would just need to keep looking in the list to see if it was ever listed as successfully installed at a later date. If not, then it was never installed.

This is not a bug. The view update history is basically just a log file. If an updated failed to install, then it'll be logged and listed as such. If it should successfully install later, then it'll be listed again, but of course as installed. :)

    Hi,Thank you very much.
I have another doubt. If the update is failed, would that be shown in checksur.log? after using windows readiness tool. I got some failed updates. I used the tool listed in my link and it shows fixed some updates, but the log file kept saying that it is failed.
Then i used the windows readiness tool and checked the check sur log. It showed as no errors . Would that mean that all updates are installed just fine.
If it is a log file, will the log (get refreshed)created on each and every attempt or stored in the same file

View update history is a continuing log of all attempts to install Windows Updates. It doesn't matter if they failed or were successfully installed. They are just logged with a timestamp.

If you like, you can clear the history log using OPTION ONE below, but it will clear all details.
