How to Enable or Disable "Log off" in the Start Menu of Windows 7
Information
This will show you how to enable or disable the Log off option in the Start Menu for all users in Windows 7.
You must be logged in as an administrator to be able to this tutorial.
Note
When Log off is disable in the Start Menu, Log off is remove in the Start Menu power button and grayed out in the arrow menu to the right of the power button.
EXAMPLE: Start Menu "Log off" Enabled and Disabled
OPTION ONE
Using a REG File Download
1. To Enable "Log Off" in the Start Menu NOTE:This is the default setting.
A) Click on the Download button below to download the file below.
Allow_Users_Delete_Browsing_History.reg
B) Go to step 3.
2. To Disable "Log Off" in the Start Menu
A) Click on the Download button below to download the file below.
Prevent_Users_Delete_Browsing_History.reg
3. Click on Save, and save the .reg file to the desktop.
4. Right click on the downloaded .reg file and click on Merge.
5. Click on Run, Yes, Yes, and OK when prompted.
6. Restart the computer to apply.
7. When done, you can delete the downloaded .reg file if you like.
