How to Use "Run as different user" Context Menu Item With or Without Shift+Right Click

This will show you how to be able to use the Run as different user context menu item with or without Shift+Right Click on BAT, CMD, EXE, MSC, and MSI files for all users in Windows 7 and Windows 8.

You must be logged in as an administrator to be able to do this tutorial.


EXAMPLE: "Run as different user" with or without Shift+Right Click in the Context Menu

Views: 6548
Size:  45.1 KBName:  Right_Click.jpg
Views: 6510

Views: 6497

Here's How:
1. Shift+Right Click "Run as different user" in the Context Menu
NOTE: This is the default setting.
A) Click/tap on the Download button below to download the file below.
Shift+Right-Click_Run_as_Different_User.reg
download
B) Go to step 3.
2. Right Click "Run as different user" in the Context Menu
A) Click/tap on the Download button below to download the file below.
Right-Click_Run_as_Different_User.reg
download
3. Save the .reg file to the desktop.

4. Double click/tap on the downloaded .reg file to merge it.

5. Click/tap on Run, Yes (UAC), Yes, and OK when prompted.

6. If open, close and reopen Windows Explorer.

7. When finished, you can delete the downloaded .reg file if you like.

wtb a file to remove the aforementioned :P

ie: add/remove shift+right click run as different user & add/remove right click run as different user

(not sure how they entangle with one another)

Thank you as usual. Best site on the web imo. (course it perpetually keeps me from getting real work done but meh)

Hello Klepp,

If you wanted to completely remove "Run as Different User", then you could use the tutorial below instead.
