Hello Laughingcloud, and welcome to Seven Forums.

It means that you will need to install the drivers for all of your devices on your laptop computer such as video, audio, chipset, touchpad, etc..... You should be able to click on the Download link at the Toshiba link below to look up your specific laptop model and find Windows 7 versions of these drivers. :)

yes but that is after I installed Windows 7 right? If I don't have the drivers yet, will I be able to do anything on the computer such as go on the internet or use my touchpad?

Correct, you would install the drivers after the clean install of Windows 7.

However, I would recommend to have them downloaded and saved to say a USB flash drive or CD/DVD to have them available to install afterwards incase you needed to install the network driver before being able to access the internet.

Hi, I have just installed my new Windows 7, everything seems to be running smoothly and I was just wondering, do I really need to download those drivers?

    It's really up to you.

By default, Windows 7 includes generic drivers for most devices. Sometimes, updated drivers for these devices are also available through Windows Updates.

However, if you would like to get the most performance and all available features from a device, it usually requires installing the lastest manufacturer driver version.

    Worked great!

This tutorial was GREAT!!!! Though I did have to change my BIOS to get it to work. The first time I tried to clean install it got the first restart then I couldn't read the disc and had to start over After I did it again it worked! Thanks Brink!!!!
