I know it isn't exactly the point of the tutorial, but you could also use CCleaner as a second option to secure delete any files you have it pick up or send to it as well.

Not sure I'd want to always do SD though having an SSD myself, as it would be a lot of unnecessary writing to it if you used it quite often.

Good point Aaron. I added two secure delete download options. One for 1-pass, and another for 7-passes.

    Excellent Tutorial Shawn very useful!

Does this override the "Take Ownership" context menu? I seem to remember reading somewhere you could only have one additional context menu... but I could be talking out of my ass.

    Hello Martin,

LOL, nar it doesn't interfere with anything and works just fine with whatever you add to the context menu. :)

Excellent stuff I wrote a script to get Linux to do this a while ago, it was annoying me that Windows had to rely on Ccleaner. Thanks :)

    Thank you Brink,

Last idea, I want to save a log, i'm writing in regedit:

    "sdelete.exe" /p 7 /s "%1" >> "C:\Users\jmiranda\Desktop\DeleteLog.txt"

    and

    "sdelete.exe" /p 7 /s "%1 >> C:\Users\jmiranda\Desktop\DeleteLog.txt"

but no working. I'm sure that you have a solution.

    Thanks again,

    Johann.

    You're welcome Johann.

I'm afraid that I'm not sure how or if you could create a log file for this though.
