how to remove ALL file types and then add just the relevant ones

The Win7 desktop search feature returns untold useless search results and rarely any relevant ones. When trying to remove the litterally hundreds of irrelevant file types, there is no apparent way to select them all and so am faced with an hour-long procedure of painfully de-selecting every single type. How do I remove ALL of them so I can add just the relevant ones... Office, emails, text files, vids, music, photos, etc. Thanks.

somebody suggested on superuser to do a simple keyboard a macro , down space down space.. that should work at least for the disabling, then enabling you go manually
