    Hello.
I have a problem. I ran the batch file that restored the default "Links" folder but when I drag and drop any folder to Links, add this folder with "- shorcut" text in the name.

But if I add any folder by right click in "favorites" and choose "add current location to favorites" no problem. Add without "- shorcut"

    Any solution?
    Thanks
Hello knee, and welcome to Seven Forums.

It sounds like it's adding the "Shortcut" extension below to the name. As a test, use the tutorial below to remove the "Shortcut" extension to see if that stops this for you.

I understand this is an old thread but I think the topic is close enough to my question to be a good place to start. I will shortly be doing a new installation of W7 and want to deal with something that has always niggled me about the Libraries thing. I don't like having my stuff sorted into libraries. I like just one place to have all my things in folders of my choosing. Each folder is named and might contain pretty much anything. Text documents, PDFs, music, video clips, photos, etc. This root location I want to call Documents and have a folder icon down on the Task bar to access it with just one click.

Is this possible? It was in XP but W7 (which I love) insists on Libraries getting in my way.

    Hello,

You don't have to use the "Libraries" feature below if you don't want to.

Libraries Folder - Add or Remove from Navigation Pane

    Library - Include a Folder

You can add as many folders inside your user profile folder as wanted as usual, and be able to pin them to "Favorites" below if wanted for easy access via the navigation pane.

Favorites - Links - Add or Remove in Navigation Pane

I have been looking for a solution to the problem with the favorites folder in Windows Explorer for two days and here I found the solution, thank you very much.

Note: I solved in the second try because in the first try I didn't put the BAT files on the desktop but in the download folder, they don't work there (I had to follow the instructions completely). Thanks once again.
