I must admit that I'm not sure why it's not working for you unless you may have some 3rd party tweaking program installed that has a feature that would override this.

I had an add-on in Firefox called Bookmark Favicon Changer https://sites.google.com/site/sontha...faviconchanger. It is used to change Firefox's bookmark icons. I removed it but still no difference. I am also guessing that some other program may be causing it but don't know which one. Thanks for staying with my question.
