    hmm, you're right, run as admin is broken D:

    but i know i had a self elevating take ownership item that worked fine with the run as admin command not so long ago.

    seems to be because it replaces the run as key for exe's.

    i recommend removal of take ownership over exe files?

    Code:
    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [-HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\*\shell\runas]

    [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\*\shell\runas]
    @="Take ownership"
    "HasLUAShield"=""
    "NoWorkingDirectory"=""

    [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\*\shell\runas\command]
    @="cmd.exe /c takeown /f \"%1\" && icacls \"%1\" /grant administrators:F"
    "IsolatedCommand"="cmd.exe /c takeown /f \"%1\" && icacls \"%1\" /grant administrators:F"

    [-HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\shell\runas]

    [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\shell\runas]
    @="Take ownership"
    "HasLUAShield"=""
    "NoWorkingDirectory"=""

    [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\shell\runas\command]
    @="cmd.exe /c takeown /f \"%1\" /r /d y && icacls \"%1\" /grant administrators:F /t"
    "IsolatedCommand"="cmd.exe /c takeown /f \"%1\" /r /d y && icacls \"%1\" /grant administrators:F /t"

    [-HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\dllfile\shell]

    [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\dllfile\shell\runas]
    @="Take ownership"
    "HasLUAShield"=""
    "NoWorkingDirectory"=""

    [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\dllfile\shell\runas\command]
    @="cmd.exe /c takeown /f \"%1\" && icacls \"%1\" /grant administrators:F"
    "IsolatedCommand"="cmd.exe /c takeown /f \"%1\" && icacls \"%1\" /grant administrators:F"
    Lol. I don't know. Just let me know when there is a new version to download that gives back the option to "Run as Administrator"

    theres no need to give it back, just use the packaged uninstall/removal file and that will restore run as admin.

    I guess what I'm trying to say, will it be fixed so that Run as Administrator and Take Ownership appear in the same menu so you have both options?

    doesn't seem possible to keep both run as options on exe files.

    Okey doke. The add REG download changed to not include "Take Ownership" for EXE files to leave "Run as administrator" instead. :)

    Hmmm... Ok. What if you just Take Ownership and run the file, will that give you the same permissions?

    So, what should I do to fix this? Uninstall current and redownload?

    You can run the Remove reg file to undo your current one and restore "Run as administrator" for exe files, then run the Add reg file for the new version. :)
